Why I am Running
I’ve been proud to call Block House home for 20 years, and throughout that time I’ve had the opportunity to serve and volunteer in our community in many different ways. I’ve volunteered with OA and the MUD, held a position with the PTA, and participated in the Block House softball league. I’m running for the Block House MUD because I want to have a better understanding of how our community operates and where our money goes. I believe our residents deserve clear communication and a transparent, understandable plan for how our resources are being used. I would like to see a defined and structured list of what needs to be taken care of, line by line, along with planning for future needs and improvements. Having a clear plan allows us to be proactive instead of simply reacting when something needs attention. I also believe in having the right people available and working on behalf of our community, with clear responsibilities and expectations. Just as importantly, I believe our rules and processes should be easy for everyone to find, understand, and follow. Most of all, I want us to be proud of where we live and feel connected to our neighbors. Communication can always be improved, and I want to help create more opportunities for residents to be informed, involved, and heard. Block House has traditions that make our neighborhood special, and I want to help keep those traditions alive rather than watching them fade away. After 20 years here, I care deeply about this community and want to help make it an even better place for the people who call Block House home.
